With the advent of America’s funniest home videos, it has become common to want to ‘watch’ people and not get involved.
Throughout history there have been voyeurs that have been ‘caught’ in the act. For many, that is part of the thrill. For some, it is a type of undercover exhibitionism. Part of the Marquis de Sade’s stories revolve around coming across people in the act, sometimes on purpose. The sexual gratification can be the most intense when the person viewing the scene before them can be caught at any moment.
There are many psychologists that think that voyeurism is a bad symptom of some sort of psychosis. The ones who pay attention know that it only is at all dangerous if it is repressed. To indulge once in a while is a wonderful addition to any fetish life. It helps those of us who like to show off.
