Fact Sheet- Bottom or Top? Dom or sub?

There are many people who do not know what position they are when it comes to the fetish world. The terms Top, Bottom, Dom(inant), and sub(missive) are used to help describe what we do.
Top and Dom(me) are almost interchangeable. The Top or Dom is in charge of the scene or situation. They are the ones who are the creative ones who keep the action going. Sometimes they are ‘professional’, which means they are paid to do things within the fetish realm.
Bottom or sub are not as interchangeable as their counterparts. To be a Bottom is to loose most of the control to the Top to help your stresses and frustrations let go. To be a sub generally means to let the Dom use you any way they want. The Bottom has control over what goes on, and can usually stop things at any time without any questions. A sub might be able to stop what is going on, but will have to answer for it later.
A switch is someone who can be in either position, or is generally Dom or sub in one situation and is the other all other times. An example of this is a person who is sub to their steady, but is Dom to everybody else.
